Praia D’El Rey is among the continent’s top courses: the front nine runs through pine forest, the back nine across dunes along the Atlantic with views of the Berlengas islands – links golf with wind and space.

Cabell B. Robinson built a course in 1997 that unites two worlds. The coastal holes 13 to 16 with dunes, fescue and sea views are among the most photographed in Portugal. Par 73, 6,467 metres, several tee boxes. Driving range, academy, pro shop and clubhouse right at the Marriott resort; West Cliffs, Royal Óbidos and Bom Sucesso are neighbours.
