From the Costa del Sol to Mallorca: golf with style

5 golf hotels5 golf courses ca. 2,5–3 Std.

Spain is Europe’s number one golf country – over 400 courses, legendary names like Valderrama and a way of life in which the day really starts after the round. We take you to the Costa del Sol, to Cádiz, the Costa Blanca and Mallorca: to resorts where the first tee is right outside the door.

Hardly any country combines golf, gastronomy and coastal life as naturally as Spain. On the Costa del Sol, around 70 courses line the coast between Málaga and Sotogrande – including venues of the Ryder Cup and the Volvo Masters. The hills of Mijas, Benahavís and Marbella offer views across the Mediterranean to Africa.

Further west, in the province of Cádiz, things get quieter: cork oak forests, white villages and resorts such as Fairplay or SO/ Sotogrande, where boutique atmosphere meets championship golf. The Costa Blanca around Alicante scores with more than 320 days of sunshine and modern resorts such as La Finca, and Mallorca with over 20 courses is the golf island par excellence – in the north-east, Pula is a resort that combines peace and top-class golf.

Spain can be played all year round; the courses are in excellent condition, the clubhouses open and welcoming. After the round come tapas, Rioja and long evenings – or a trip to Seville, Ronda or Palma.

Our packages combine hotel, green fees and, if you wish, flights and hire car. Tell us which region appeals to you – we know the courses and resorts personally.

The climate on Spain’s coasts is mild and sunny. Spring and autumn are the ideal golf months: 20–27 °C, little rain, perfect course conditions. On the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca you can also play comfortably from December to February at 16–19 °C. Summer is hot (30–35 °C) but perfectly suitable for golf with early tee times and a sea breeze – especially on Mallorca and in Cádiz, where the Atlantic wind keeps things cool.

Frequently asked questions about Spain

Which region suits me?

Variety and nightlife: Costa del Sol. Peace and nature: Cádiz. Guaranteed sunshine: Costa Blanca. Island feeling: Mallorca. We are happy to advise you personally.

Do I need a hire car?

Not necessarily at resorts with their own course. If you want to play several courses, a hire car gives you flexibility – we can arrange it.

Are tee times hard to get in summer?

No – high season on the Costa del Sol is spring and autumn. In summer the courses are rather quiet.

Are there handicap requirements?

Some clubs require a handicap (usually 28/36) or a course permit. We check this for every course you wish to play.
